J and I made it to Cincinnati with no snafus other than almost running out of gas in the truck (we couldn't find a damn gas station and the GPS thing took us to a dead-end street and then proclaimed "you have reached your destination!") and side-scraping a pole (also in the truck).
We then proceeded to unload a shit-ton of stuff. (Thank you again,
mechante_fille for the chairs and table; they helped fill our living room. ^__^ And I managed to put the chairs back together okay, though I did end up missing one dowel.)
All that's left is unpacking bedrooms and some boxes of books and stuff (I've got a few, J's got a few,
maderr has 16 boxes of books). Some of her family stopped by and they were fucking awesome, helping out around the house and getting it more liveable. Especially the sketchy basement, which is really not so sketchy when there's light down there. ^_____^
Um, what else? My cat is a giant dork. He's perfectly okay in my bedroom, and he's starting to venture out to other places. He's conquered most of the upstairs, but he still gets easily spooked downstairs, which sends him scampering for the basement. Last night he managed to squirrel himself away in the rafters, far back where I couldn't reach him. It took a very long stick, a squirt gun, and
maderr's father to get him the fuck out of there.
And then he needed a bath. He hated it, but he didn't struggle at all, just made a few lunges for the side of the tub. Heh, and then this morning he was so soft that I kind of want to bathe him more often, just to get that softness again. ^____^
Right now the little menace is exploring the downstairs since I'm the only one up and therefore it's not half as scary as it could be.
Oh, and he did the trip perfectly. ^__^ Didn't have to drug him at all. As long as he was in someone's lap, he was absolutely happy. He even rode in the truck for a while.
Hmm, I think I'm forgetting to add something here. Ah well, I can always post again later. ^__^ Haz internets, hee. ^___^
end.
